Fully automatic sawing line with discharge table

Read about how this cutting solution processes heavy-duty aluminum profiles.

JAP Jacina specializes in systems for high-water and flood protection. To manufacture retaining walls, the company uses sturdy, thick-walled profiles that must be cut precisely to length. The challenge lay not only in the cutting process, but also in the efficient removal of products, end pieces, and scrap material.

With an automatic sawing line, including a push-feed system and an ejection table, JAP Jacina now has a solution that streamlines the sawing process and minimizes manual handling.

The Challenge

The aluminum profiles processed by JAP Jacina are heavy and are cut to various lengths. After each cut, the products must be safely removed without the operator having to retrieve individual pieces from the output side each time.

In addition, the supplied profiles sometimes vary slightly in length or straightness. The machine must therefore be able to guide the profile stably, position it accurately, and clamp it securely before the cutting cycle begins.

JAP Jacina’s request was clear: a reliable cutting solution that automatically cuts heavy profiles to size, intelligently collects short pieces, and immediately separates scrap from usable parts.

Our Solution

Van Dulst Techniek supplied, via MPS (Modular Production Systems), an automatic sawing line featuring heavy-duty support beams, a push-feed system for feed lengths up to 7.5 meters, a servo-controlled sawing unit, an exhaust system, and an ejection table on the discharge side.

The operator places the profiles on the infeed conveyor. The system then automatically pushes the material into the correct position. Thanks to a smart guidance system, the profile remains properly aligned with the reference position even if it has a slight curvature or a crooked end cut.

The machine then cuts the profiles precisely to size and feeds the products in a controlled manner to the discharge table.

Precise clamping and controlled cutting

An important component of the sawing line is the vertical clamping system. The profile is clamped directly on both sides of the saw blade. This ensures the material remains stable during cutting, allowing even short end pieces to be cut reliably.

The sawing unit features a servo-controlled feed. The machine makes a controlled cut into the profile, then moves through the material at the correct speed, and brakes again at the end of the cut. This ensures stable machining of heavy, thick-walled profiles.

Greater efficiency on the output side

The ejection table is what makes this line unique. Instead of ejecting each product individually, multiple short products are collected on the table. Once the preset series is complete, these products are ejected forward together.

This prevents unnecessary steps and ensures better utilization of the output side. The operator needs to intervene less often, while the machine can continue producing as much as possible.

End pieces and offcuts are automatically separated from the good products. These pieces are discharged into separate waste bins, keeping the output table organized and preventing scrap material from ending up among the cut products.

Here’s how the process works in practice

  1. The operator places the profiles on the support brackets of the feed conveyor.
  2. The push-in system automatically positions the profile against the reference position.
  3. The guide and vertical clamping ensure stable positioning during cutting.
  4. The saw unit precisely cuts the profile to length according to the set cutting cycle.
  5. Good products are collected on the discharge table and discharged together.
  6. Head and tail scraps are automatically separated and removed.

This creates a consistent and well-organized workflow in which the machine takes over the repetitive cutting and removal tasks.

Suited to daily production

JAP Jacina works with a manageable number of recurring product variants. That is why the company opted for a robust and user-friendly cutting line with fixed programs that easily integrate into daily production.

The combination of precise cutting, stable clamping, and smart removal gives JAP Jacina greater control over the process. Heavy profiles are processed more efficiently, the output side remains organized, and the operator has less manual work to do.
