Van Dulst Techniek is taking part in a rowing event for charity
This year marked the 11th time that a charity rowing race has been organised on the Hollandsche IJssel, between Capelle aan den IJssel and Krimpen aan den IJssel. The proceeds will go, amongst other things, towards the annual Christmas hamper campaign for residents of Capelle who could do with a little extra help.
A total of 12 teams, each consisting of eight rowers plus a coxswain, competed in a 200-metre knockout race for the coveted title. The event took place at the Vuykpark jetty, next to the Jofel restaurant on Dorpsstraat in Capelle aan den IJssel.
In glorious weather, a mixed team from Van Dulst Techniek also took part, easily recognisable in their orange Makita shirts. They improved with every lap and managed to row their way through the early rounds impressively. In the end, victory was not to be, but that didn’t spoil the fun. It was a sporting and, above all, enjoyable day out with colleagues, in aid of a worthy cause.
