NEN 3140 Inspection
NEN 3140 is the Dutch standard that sets out the safety requirements for power tools and machines. The Health and Safety Authority has determined that employers have a responsibility and obligation to ensure that their employees work with safe tools and machines. NEN 3140 is a periodic inspection. How often your power tools need to be inspected depends on the type of power tool and the workplace.
It is important not to neglect NEN 3140 inspections. In the event of an accident at work, the labor inspectorate and insurance company will check, among other things, whether the NEN 3140 requirement has been met. If your organization does not comply with this obligation, problems may arise with regard to liability. Avoid problems by having your power tools and machines inspected on time! This way, you can demonstrate that you have done everything possible to comply with the safety requirements.
What does a NEN 3140 inspection entail?
In principle, a NEN 3140 inspection focuses purely on safety and not on the technical condition of the equipment. However, our experience shows that this can lead to frustration. Your equipment has just been inspected and a week later it stops working. How is that possible?
That is why, in addition to the standard NEN 3140 inspection, we also offer the NEN 3140 Plus inspection. During the NEN 3140 Plus inspection, we will also assess the technical condition of the device. If a defect is found, a standard repair will be carried out, and the costs for the NEN 3140 inspection will not be charged.

After inspection, you will receive a documentation package containing comprehensive, verifiable administration and test certificates for all inspected work equipment. The documentation package includes an overview of the inspected work equipment, an inspection report and test certificates.
You can receive the documentation package in hard copy and/or digitally on CD-ROM or by email.
